A surprisingly cool little world music treasure! Though I'm not normally a big fan of world Music this is a definite exception! We join the talented David Arkenstone on a mystical musical adventure... a trip of a lifetime to the land of the Dalai Lama. He paints a masterpiece of both ancient and modern Tibet featuring keyboards, bouzouki, guitar, drums, bells, and wooden flutes.
Favorite Tracks Include:
The first resonating notes and vocal sounds of (2) Wheels of Prayer, give the listener notice that the music to follow will take them on a sacred journey through the mist shrouded Tibetan landscape. The drums and bells reminiscent of Tibetan Temples and scenes of special natural beauty inspire... while the incessant beat almost makes one wish to join in a joyful dance.
The notes of (6) Roof of the World shimmer in pristine mountain air like sunlight upon the snow-capped top of Mt. Everest. While the dramatic notes of (8) View from the Palace perfectly caps our magical musical experience like the setting sun caresses weary travelers on their way home after a busy day.
Some of the tracks have soft vocals but it is in no way intrusive should one wish to listen to it while paying bills, reading, resting or while receiving therapeutic massage. Wind down from the hectic pace of your day with this beautiful CD from David Arkenstone!
