The drums and flute in (2) Pubelo Sunrise, create a mood of quiet reverence and beauty that begins anew each day. In (3) Navajo Pride the haunting call of a bird mixes with soft guitar and the almost melancholy notes of the wooden flute soothe ones cares away like a gentle desert breeze. The upbeat (5) Ancestral Circle is the perfect foil for many of the more sedate tracks in the album as well.
A timeless album, perfect for therapeutic massage, meditation or relaxation in any form. I felt like I'd slipped back through the sands of desert time when the first notes of Cave Painter called out to me. It held me captive until the first discordant notes of Mojave and Desert Moon grabbed my attention, giving me the impression we'd completed our musical journey and arrived at last in the "modern" industrialized world. A definite Keeper!
Editors Note ::
Upon closer examination, Nancy and I discovered that this album is the exact same as the "Native Sprit" album that I reviewed in 2002. It appears that the tracks have been rearranged and sold under a different label. Due to some confusion at a few sites selling this album, we have decided not to include links so you can purchase it, seeing as how we are not sure which album you will get, and if the music has changed in anyway. -- Joshua
